Please join the Future of Privacy Forum on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 (12 PM ET / 9 AM Pacific) for a discussion of mobile device location data and privacy.
Discussion Summary
In the midst of private sector and government interest in using location data for COVID-19 contact tracing, this session is intended to help policymakers and lawmakers better understand the complicated commercial (and non-commercial) ecosystem for device location data. How is it collected? How is it shared? Who processes it, and what are the technical, policy, and legal limits to that processing? How does “proximity data” differ from location data, and why does it matter?
We will be joined by technical and legal experts to discuss FPF’s recently released infographic, The World of Geolocation Data, and to answer questions about evaluating and mitigating risks in real-world location datasets.
Join us for a conversation with:
- Chelsey Colbert, Policy Counsel, Future of Privacy Forum (Mobility and Location Data)

We look forward to hearing from you on the 2nd!
